As a founding member and former president of the Bronco Cybersecurity Club, he nurtured a vibrant community of security enthusiasts on campus. His role as Team Lead for Team TechNext, an initiative devoted to connecting alumni with emerging technology talents, further reflects his heartfelt belief in the power of shared knowledge.

With nearly a decade of progressive leadership at Stryker, Tiauna Ross is a trailblazer in cybersecurity innovation and digital transformation. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Cybersecurity Innovation & Transformation, she crafts and executes a forward-thinking cybersecurity strategy that encompasses cutting-edge security architecture, engineering, automation, and application security. In this role, she not only safeguards critical data and systems but also spearheads innovative initiatives that enhance the organization’s overall resilience against ever-evolving threats.

Previously, as Director of Digital Cybersecurity Operations, Tiauna led a team of cloud architecture and cybersecurity experts dedicated to ensuring the stability and security of Stryker’s digital infrastructure. Her strategic vision and ability to build strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders were key to aligning digital service delivery with the company’s broader objectives.

Sheya Jones - Connecting Science and Security: Shaping the Future of Biosafety, AI and Synthetic Biology

Sheya Jones is a Registered Biosafety Professional (RBP) with 15 years of experience in biological safety and risk management. She currently serves as the Senior Biosafety Officer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where she leads efforts to ensure the safe conduct of cutting-edge research.

Sheya has a strong background in research, leadership, and team collaboration, with expertise in risk assessment, biosafety program management, and laboratory safety compliance. Her previous roles include: Assistant Director and Biosafety Officer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Assistant Biosafety Officer at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and Biosafety Officer at Indiana University, Bloomington.

Sheya holds a graduate degree in Microbiology with a focus on virus replication from Indiana University, Bloomington. Through her education and professional experience, she has honed bench research skills, leadership capabilities, and expertise in risk mitigation strategies. As a Biosafety Officer, she specializes in conducting risk assessments and developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies to promote a safe and compliant research environment.

Her work plays a critical role in facilitating high-impact scientific advancements while ensuring laboratory safety and regulatory compliance.
